Nikita Season 3: Yes, No or Maybe?
86Can Nikita kick the cancellation bear and continue to kick ass for a 3rd season?
Nikita's Season 2 ratings are holding steady to a 0.6 so far on a Friday night. If you still didn't know, TV world has a term called 'Friday factor' (or that's what people say its name is) it is when Friday ratings are always lower compare to a Monday - Thursday regular ratings because as we all know, most people always go out on Friday nights thus having lower ratings. Some networks doesn't air original scripted programming on a Friday but some does like The CW with Nikita and Supernatural.
So with the Friday Factor on the topic, my answer for Nikita season 3 is a YES. why?
Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie which airs on a Monday is also getting a 0.6 meaning with the Friday factor in mind. Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie with all the 18-49 people available in the U.S only manages to get a 0.6 rating same with Nikita who has a limited available market. (its like Blair get 10 fishes in a pond where it has 1,000 fishes and Alex gets 10 fishes in a pond where it only have 100 fishes) So with that we can assume that Nikita is performing good despite low ratings. But who says Cw can't cancel all 3? with this prior question, Nikita for season 3 will be a NO

This year One Tree Hill will have its final season after almost 9 years being on the air, it originated on The WB before the WB and CBS formed their partnership, CW. One Tree Hill is performing well on the network standards and the fans stayed with the show through the years that is maybe why the reason of extending it to a 13 episode final season this year, to give the show a proper goodbye for the fans. With Gossip Girl having a rating problems let's not forget that Gossip Girl is once CW's most talked about show, it gives the network the buzz it needed and maybe Gossip Girl can have an ending season like what they did to One Tree Hill for it to end properly for respect instead of cancelling it. With this being said and lets assume they will, Nikita will be more in danger of cancellation together with Hard of Dixie. The network will be likely to cancel 3 shows to cater on new shows for the 2012 season and we already have 1 slot with One Tree Hill assuming Gossip Girl will take that slot, Hart of Dixie and NIkita are the weakest shows out of the bunch thus making it more likely to be cancelled. With the Gossip Girl farewell season into play, Nikita season 3 for me is a NO
Some are saying that Nikita pairs well with Supernatural on Fridays and the CW can't put a show on Friday that can be better than what Nikita is doing right now. Of course we can't have another Smallville Friday success because the show already have 10 years of building its strong fanbase and they will follow the show whenever it will go which is not the case for Nikita at all by putting it on a deadslot on its sophomore season. Let us factor that Nikita ended it season 1 run with a 0.8 with the 2nd season move to friday to a 0.6 it is pretty possible that if they renew Nikita for a 3rd season it will get a 0.5 premiere and fluctuates through time hitting a low 0.4 and why the network will want that low ratings? If they don't want to risk another show to move to Fridays we can always assume that they can have a re-run to go along with Supernatural.
I love Nikita, watched every episode of it and got very hooked. The story is very well written not to mention the production value of it but as much I wanted it to stay for long the facts are saying otherwise so I guess Nikita will not get any season 3 renewal.

Nikita is a really good show, the only problem with the ratings of viewers, is for instance I can never catch it while its on either, so I always end up having to download it or watch it via my android.. so I would assume Nikita has much more then a 0.6 fan base, its just all the Nikita fans can't watch it at the times CW chooses to put it on
I love the show. I think it airs on the wrong day. I would hate to see this show get canceled. And for me it's on the wrong network. I think it would do well on like USA or CBS.

I will hate the CW if they cancel Nikita. Here in the Philippines, it's a big hit. A lot of people watch it. Even Hellcats still has reruns.
Gossip Girl HAD a strong fan base but they lost their momentum during the 3rd season.
They already made the mistake of cancelling Hellcats. They shouldn't dare try to do the same to Nikita.
Nikita is my favorite show on TV right now. I'm ex-military and I love the twists and authentic action scenes. Maggie Q is fabulous, like Jack Bauer but way hotter.. If you put this show on Fox on a Monday night and added some bigger name actors, you could get a following like 24.
I absolutely loved the canadian version.. La Femme Nikita, it was an amazing show in its time. Nikia is just as amazing. I think it's very well written and I love everything about it. It would be sad if it was canceled before it's really given a chance. Many good shows these days aren't given the opportunity to shine, especially the well written ones. Someone told me recently, that people just arent interested in smart, well written shows.. that's why all the stupid shows are still on, lol...

NIKITA is a fatastic story,have the most fabulors actress and actors, and well desiged episodes. A lot of Chinese people love the Show as well. It would be really sad if they make the wrong decision.

This is the best show ever!! Come on people start tuning in. I just think it would be a waste if it was cancelled. A lot of people record or watch online, thats probably why ratings are low. But its an amazing show. Maggie Q kicks butt and the rest of the cast are outstanding.
I really enjoy Nikita and wish there would be a possible 3rd and probably final season. With that said I think it is truly a wish. I too typically watch the show by downloading after the fact. I don't know how ratings will reflect that as more and more people watch shows that way

I fear Carla has been brought into the picture to be the one to help Nikita bring Division down once and for all.

Nikita is a great show. I never watch on Friday because I have other things to do. I would like to see season 3. Not only the action but the story line is great, disregarding the rating. Some people just watch without rate the show, no time on the busy Friday. When I watch Nikita, I wouldn't wait week after week. I download 3-4 episodes and watch at once.

As you can see, most of you guys worldwide just download it and, of course, this has no positive impact on the show rating. Although international market is an important factor, free download doesn't help at all. As a realistic fan, i guess there is no season 3

Its not only about the US, especially for a small network like CW. Over here in Asia where I live, Maggie Q is huge, and Nikita is really popular. Money is money, US dollars or Hong Kong dollars, who cares. None of the other CW shows is even close to Nikitas popularity over here
The only reason the rating are alittle low is because they keep giving us an episode or two and then putting it on hiatus for a month or 3 weeks so we dont know when theres an another episode, slowly they are killing the show because we dont know when an episode is on. Nikita is amazing it is far the best show on the CW and if they cancel it there screwed

I hate ratings. They are so "skewed". It is like the BMI rating for us. I cannot get a chance to watch it because of stuff going on Friday nights. So, I just DVR it now. Does DVR look like ratings? I've watched this show since its debut in 2010, and was hooked ever since it looked like she was shot by a sniper, only for it to be a dummy her at her late husband's grave. I KNEW from that moment on, what I think I know is what is NOT going to happen, and have been hooked. I also have seen EVERY show from its original Thursday to now its Friday, and that includes its reruns- I love this show THAT much! I just hope CW doesn't pull a WB and cancel it like they did Roswell, but then again, if that's the case, maybe we can send into executives something from Division... Well, CW people if you do see these comments, know that who you THINK watches the show isn't always the case, there are multiple people without Neilson boxes or diaries who LOVE Nikita, and its fanbase is GROWING. I've been telling EVERYONE about my favorite show the last 2 years- NIKITA!!

Nikita is like a shot of adrenalin to my heart. I keep to the edge of my seat for the entire hour and have never been disappointed. I found Nikita's 1st season on Netflix and have been hooked!! Just disappointed that I do not have any more episodes to watch. Please bring on more Nikita! I hated it when Alias was over and this show is the closest to it that I have been able to find and maybe even better. Nikita and Alex rock together! The show always kept me in suspense. Nikita is one of the best shows on the CW, they made a HUGE mistake by moving it to Fridays. The show is a top quality production and not the typical CW teenie garbage. If this show were on any other network it would be huge. The people running the CW have NO CLUE how to schedule.

Nikita must have a season 3!! In the netherlands we start next sunday with season 2 and i really like the twists in the series and it's just awesome!! And indeed the ratings in the usa are low because it's on friday when the most teenagers and students are going out so if they put it on another day i think nikita would have a lot of fans but if you look to how many people donload it you can see that it's very populair

Started watching Nikita on Netflix and was hooked. This is a great fantasy show, with great looking characters. Because it aired on CW I would have never thought to watch it before I saw season 1 on Netflix. I don't understand why the ratings are so low. I wait desperately for the following episode. There are too many shows about teenage drama, so it is refreshing to see something with such a unique angle. I also wish they would not give us 1 or 2 new episodes at a time. The show was a bit better in season 1 due to the the built-up off Nikita and Michael's relationship. I miss the mystery factor in that. I would love to have at least another season. Maybe Division could be taken over by Niita, Michael, and Birkoff. Then they could be working on missions to save the world, be a bit like the show 24.
If CW wants better ratings, put the show in a better time slot or get a better channel to show it, Also, advertise it more. Try that before canceling it !!!

Nikita is a very interesting series and in Portugal is ca sosesso on my pc all day until you have finished the second season, I speak for myself and my boyfriend want a season 3. please :)
Those worried about the show not getting renewed should try the path of supporting the show otherwise. It's okay to download the episodes, but remember to rate on IMDB and purchase the season dvd/br when it's released.

Here's how I see it:
possiblity #1. IF CW cancel Nikita on the basis that it's rating has been poor (or shows no signs of improving in the future), then they are total IDIOTS. Who doesn't even realize what's happening out here in the world. I mean, I honestly can't name more than 10 people I know who's below the age of 40 and actually watches television as a routine activity. Most people under 40 either work, go to class, party, and their tvs are used mostly for dvds or video games. Just because the number of people that tune in on friday at that exact time is low, does not mean that people dislike the show. Nikita is NOT Heroes, which stumbled and dip in quality. Nikita has been (at least until now) keeping its quality. So if CW really cancel the show because of 'ratings', they're absolutely clueless.
possibility #2. CW grant Nikita a 3rd season, while not moving it to a better time slot. In which case, I think that they are geniuses, and they realize that the show is popular regardless of how many people in the states actually watch it when its on air. And they are happy to milkmoney from the franchise some other way (like international licences, considering that Maggie Q was an active actress for a while in Hongkong and Asia, Nikita has large international appeal). If that's the case, I salute CW for being brave and smart enough to keep Nikita alive.
Either way, I think as time goes on, 'rating' is becoming more and more irrelevant. More and more options (legal or otherwise) are becoming available to watch tv shows, other than being forced to sit in front of the tv at particular times. And people are taking those options. Like, remember Sarah Connor Chronicles? Also a show with ass-kicking heroines, it got cancelled for poor rating, and yet there are still people even today that's fighting to bring the show back.
It will be a blasphemy to 'good taste' and 'entertainment' to cancel Nikita. And a lot of people are gonna hate CW for that.
Nikita is an amazing show. Even in India there are many people who are completely hooked to this show.
I think Gossip Girl should be cancelled. Its been dragging on since season 3 with so many unnecessary characters added to it thats its lost its charisma.
There is no show like Nikita on TV right now and I'd absolutely hate for it to get cancelled. Its brilliantly produced, great actors and the plot keeps you entrapped. each episode is like a new doze of action.

add my voice to the mix - wow, what a compelling, balls-to-the-wall show. please, please, please, powers that be do NOT cancel this show. It has great international appeal, and this fan (at least) will buy pretty much everything you produce that has a nikita label on it.
As for other shows, as much as I like supernatural, I think that it should be quietly put to sleep - it had a great story arc for the first 5 seasons, but has waned after that. Go out when the story at least has a little life left in it.

I came to this site wondering about a possible season 3 of Nikita. I really like season 1, but the season 2 was had a really condensed storyline. The storyline in season 2 should fit at least three seasons. There was too much twists, and the season 2 is still running.

Best show on now, I have to download cuz CW does a bad job of slot time period! Its a movie and a video game your a fool to cancel it. Slap it on Wed. and watch the ratings. Trust me, the show is addicitive and very well written, makes Hitman look bad by a super hot chick!
I love watching the show!!! It has all the right blend of emotion, entertainment and kick ass spies... I agree that this show is addicting. Or addicting may be even an understatement- it is most addicting! XD
I wish that this could be read by those running CW so that they'd have an idea that a lot of people are watching the series, not may be on the television but the the net and on other media.

Do not cancel Nikita for Season 3. Instead, change it to a different day. It is one of the best written and acted programs ever shown on TV and Maggie Q is the best of the best. I wish they would make a Nikita movie starring her.

Please do not cancel Nikita. It is the best show on CW. I can't watch on Friday night because my children have classes until 9pm but I always watch it online the next day or as soon as it's available on CW website. The story line is amazing. I love the new high tech, the real martial art fights, I love Shadow Walker. All the actors are great. Maggie Q is so hot and sexy. She's a great actress. Right now, Nikita is my favorite show on TV even beyond American Idol. I also love Hart of Dixie too, my second favorite show on TV. I am addicted to Nikita. It's so captivating and addicting. Please DO NOT CANCEL Nikita. Move it to Tuesday or don't rely on inaccurate rating since now a day, please watch online more than on TV.

CW should know that Nikita is the most popular show in Asia and many other countries. People watch online now a day. It's not air on the right day and time. Nikita is amazing. I am obsessed with the show. I feel like I am missing something in life if I don't watch the show every week. Acting, casting, fighting and story line are absolutely fascinating. Maggie Q is so beautiful and hot. Maggie Q also loves donating tons and tons of her time saving animals. She's great in many areas: beautiful with brain and great heart. Please renew Nikita. CW should have billboards of Nikita all over USA, especially in Los Angeles so people know about it. I only recently discovered it and I went back to watch all season 1 shows and have been following all episodes of season 2. I already feel sad because season finale is coming. I don't know what to watch on TV any more if Nikita is not on.

"Nikita" is a great show and very interesting - love the action and the cast. It has a great storyline which you don't always get on some of these other shows. Now that Alex and Sean are getting romanticly involved and Nikita and Michael are so great together, if the CW cancels the show now, I'll scream. Please don't cancel "Nikita" and leave us hanging. Take a look at some of the other flat shows you have out there and cancel them, but PLEASE, PLEASE keep "NIKITA" and renew it for another season - 3 seasons for "Nikita" - big mistake if the CW doesn't listen to the show's fans.

I buy lots of programmes on iTunes but Nikita is by far my favourite and the one that I await with baited breath every week. The cast is great, the plot twists are very clever and I love the baddies, Percy, Amanda, Ari and Roan too!!
So, please CW, do not just look at American viewership figures. There's a whole world out there too where you can make your money selling your programmes to.
Nikita for Season 3, and 4, and 5 ....
How can anyone predict that Nikita won't have a great Season 3. This show has improved constantly and Season 2 has been terrific. If WB & CW think it's a weak show, then why not try putting "Nikita" into the Monday night slot and see what happens. I think Nikita's ratings will be very high if it's moved to Monday. The show is so well written and well done. Each episode is very interesting and it's action-packed as well as very human. Michael having to say goodbye to his son was very sad and excellently done. Not to renew Nikita for Season 3 would be a big mistake for the CW.
I'll be sad if i don't add my voice, PLEASE RENEW NIKITA!

I'm from a small country in Europe called the Netherlands and I've been a slave to this show since it aired on the first of January. I don't watch tv that often, only for shows like Grey's Anatomy and NCIS. I can definitly say Nikita is the highlight of my week. Everytime sunday comes closer, I get so fucking excited. Seriously, I don't know what I would do without it. CW, If you even THINK about canceling this show...............

I'm from Hong Kong and Nikita is a hit here! When the show first aired, they hung huge posters of Nikita on buildings, trams and really big billboards. I'd hate to see such a good show thrown away while really crappy ones still stay. Nikita has such intense action, amazing chemistry between the characters and it has such a good storyline, it makes me crawl back for more each week. we lonve the show here in greece ???!! there are an awful lot of fans here es well actually apretty much everyone i know loves it!! i am downloading every single episode right the next day after it's been palyed at the CW (they don't aploading them earlier).... so it's not only the 0,6 that we are tolking about who can see it when it's on air but all the others that are downloadin the episodes.... so pretty please DO NOT cut the show!!!!!
nikita will be back on the air in october time and then ends on may 2013 dont no if there will be a season 4 but less hope so love the show and cant beat the hot girls in it

I don't think there will be a season 3 mainly because its nearly impossible any more to make a good show where the profit outweighs the cost/hassle.
Good show= high cost/big risk, 100's of parts to go wrong
Reality TV= no cost, no risk, big reward, maybe a dozen easily replaced parts
Sadly all the shows I start to watch regularly only make it a few seasons like arrested development, firefly, better off ted, party down and many others.
I hope it returns but since I actually watch it when I can I don't have much hope.
It is really nice story in Prison break and 24 hour magnitude. I wait the third episode with improved acting and directing.

Having to cancel nikita season three would do much harm not only to me but to all the viewers out there..we really dont have to catch up with it on CW on friday but you can be sure it gets us glued to watch..its so intresting and as a matter of fact i tend to disagree that its droping...just do us justice and let nikita be aired..thank you
